To show our respect this Remembrance Day at the Wellington Primaries, a variety of activities took place. Children from Years 1-6 created beautiful bright poppies using a variety of art techniques, including pastel, paint, colouring and even 3D plastic poppies!
Staff and pupils on both sites joined a broadcast from The Wellington Academy, which included readers from Year 6 at both primaries and the CCF band and all pupils marked the 2 minute silence in their classroom. Both primaries were delighted to welcome Musician Watt from the British Army Band Tidworth, part of the Corps of Army Music, who visited both sites to play the last post for all pupils on the playground, giving the occasion a very poignant feel.
Thank you to all parents who supported this important day by sending donations into school for poppies. I am delighted to report that Eagles collected £78.30 in donations and Wellington Primary collected £164. When added to the Wellington Academy donations, our school community raised £425 for the Royal British Legion.
