A WARM WELCOME TO WELLINGTON EAGLES PRIMARY ACADEMY
I am very proud to be the Primary Cluster Headteacher for Wellington Eagles Academy and Wellington Primary Academy.
Wellington Primary Academy opened in 2015 and has grown to become a thriving two form entry school in the heart of Tidworth. Due to continued demand for school places in the area, Wellington Eagles was opened in 2019 in Ludgershall, initially as a one form entry primary school but with capacity to grow to two forms over the next few years. Our primaries are part of The Royal Wootton Bassett Academy Trust (RWBAT), which is made up of 7 schools in the Wiltshire and Swindon area, with our local secondary school, The Wellington Academy, being a natural feeder for the majority of our pupils.
At The Wellington Primaries, 'The Curious Child' is at the centre of our curriculum. We encourage pupils to ask questions and discover answers through a variety of means. Each child is unique and their learning style will also be individual to them, so teachers plan lessons that are creative, interactive and fun, including inviting inspirational visitors into school, organising visits, using specialist coaches and practical outdoor learning to enhance the love of learning for our pupils.
I am particularly proud of the caring and nurturing environment at both our schools, with pupils looking after each other through their House teams and a buddy system for new starters to ensure they settle quickly into school. We have developed strong links with the military community, with approximately 80% of our pupils coming from Service Families. We have a number of support services available to support pupils and follow the Thrive curriculum, ensuring pupils' mental health and well being is always a priority. We work with parents and the local community to ensure that both our schools reflect the needs of all stakeholders and are at the centre of the community.
We look forward to welcoming you into our school community.
